In order to thank all employees for their hard work, the company grandly celebrated its 50th anniversary and respectfully invites employees’ family members to take part in this grand occasion, and share the company’s glorious moment together with special invitation of Hsinchu City Mayor Chih-chien Lin to come and give congratulations and blessings. Participated in (also as an exhibitor at) the FLEX Taiwan, the Flexible Hybrid Electronics International Exhibition and Forum.

R&D Center successfully developed a new generation of fluorine-free nanotechnology water repellence, Feather-SiL® product. Participated in (as an exhibitor at) the Hannover fair in Germany.

R&D Center successfully developed a new generation of composite film production technology, and obtained related patent (Compo-SiL® product). To enhance employees’ centripetal force, 1,500 units of employee stock options were issued, with 1,000 shares/unit in total of 1,500,000 shares of common stock. Participated in (as an exhibitor at) the Electronica trade fair in Munich, Germany. GS Hsinchu Plant I was ISO 16949 certified.

The Dongguan plant was ISO 14001 certified.

The RC Division was reorganized to Howlon Enterprise Co., Ltd. as a GS’s subsidiary company. The Dongguan plant was ISO/TS 16949 certified.

Establishment of Dongguan Holyjade Trading Co., Ltd. at Dongguan, Guangdong province, China. Inducted the enterprise resources plan (ERP) system. GS Taiwan Plant was ISO/TS 16949 certified (automobile industry quality authentication).

GS Wujiang Plant was QS-9000 certified. GS Headquarters moved to Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Establishment of GS Europe Branch Office at Dijon, France. Grand opening of GS Wujiang Plant and Wujiang General Silicones Co., Ltd. at Jiangsu province, China. GS and GS Racing registered trademark in Taiwan, Japan, USA, and EU.

Mr. Michael Lin succeeded the President of General Silicone Co., Ltd. and began a series of organizational revolutionary restructuring and reformation. Grand opening of GS Taiwan Plant II. GS Dongguan Plant was QS-9000 certified.

1999

GS Hsinchu Plant I upgraded to QS-9000 certified. Opening a Remote Control (RC) business division for the production of RC products and fine parts, and the trademark “GS Racing” was registered.

GS launched its own website.

Establishment of GS Dongguan Plant and General Silicones Electronics Co., Ltd in Guangdong province, China.

GS Hsinchu Plant I was ISO 9002 certified.

GS and GE cooperated in a series of major silicone product, technical seminar, and marketing activity.

Establishment of General Silicones (GS) USA branch office at Los Angeles, California. Former president, Mr. J.L. Lin, was invited by GE and accompanied by Taiwan government officials and institute professors visiting GE Silicone Headquarters at Waterford, New York, USA for GE and GS joint venture memorandum.

Grand opening of General Silicones Hsinchu Plant I, manufacturing varieties of silicone keypad. Taiwan exclusive distributor carrying GE Silicones products.
