General Silicones (GS) has been specialized in the research and development, design and production of silicone rubber keypad for many years, and has continued to accumulate experience and build up core technologies. The key construction design enables the key/button to deliver a mechanical tactile feedback when it is gently pressed, so that helps the user to confirm whether the key is fully pressed or accidentally pressed. The key shape and size will also affect the pressing sensation.
Force-Stroke Curve of Silicone Rubber Keypad
Force-stroke curve is an important parameter for keypad design. Below graph shows an example of force-stroke curve of silicone keypad, in which the red line illustrate the relationship between pressing force and stroke, and the black line represents the relationship between material resilience and the stroke. Keypad with different curves shall deliver different mechanical tactile feedback.
